Lynne Michael Lynne has been diving since the 1970's. She went along with her husband's dream to go and open up a dive shop on a small tropical island. She was very involved in getting that dive shop dream, "Dive Rota," up and successfully running. Although she has long since hung up her PADI Divemaster fins and U.S. Coast Guard boat operator's license, she still helps with boating chores and marine activities when she isn't busy enjoying her life of retirement. Mark Michael Mark and his wife Lynne founded Dive Rota in 1986. The ocean and diving have been part of Mark's life since he was SCUBA certified while still in High School. He is a former U.S. Navy diver and worked for years as a commercial diver in California and Asia before coming to the island of Rota and opening Dive Rota. He led years of underwater guided tours as a NAUI Divemaster, but currently only dives for personal pleasure or an occasional commercial diving job. Mark & Lynne closed the doors of the Dive Rota dive shop on February 28, 2006. Still holding a current U.S. Coast Guard boat operators license and having piloted boats in and around the island of Rota for the last 37 years he now he now runs Dive Rota as a private boat charter business. You can also find him operating a dive boat occasionally for Blue Palms Dive Service or out on his own fishing, diving or snorkeling. Mark and Lynne together also operate the only official "Airbnb", Airbnb on the island.
