Bird Sanctuary
The Bird Sanctuary is located at the south-eastern end of the island within the Chenchon Conservation Area. This is a great place to observe the variety of birds that we have gliding along the face of the cliffs and nesting in the treetops below. The best time to visit is early in the morning when many of the birds fly out to sea in search of food or before dusk when they are returning to their nests and families with "The Catch of the Day." To get there just follow the signs from the main island road just past the entrance to the Rota Airport.
